Round 37 Crepes et Creme

Another uneventful round, for the most part.

I got a pack offer from MERF and decided to go with it. The crew consisted of InternetFett, Toothy, and Lud who returned after taking off some rounds. We went for medium and efficient races and I picked troll because it's one of the few remaining races I haven't tried. While discussing about the pack theme, Fett mentioned about his kid eating too much cupcakes on her birthday, and I randomly suggested cake as a theme. MERF linked an article about types of cakes, and Lud commented about velvet cake being "a regular cake with dye job". In the end we settled with "things related to the cake" as our dom names, with the actual cake name as the ruler names. I went with Crepes et Creme (crepes and cream) in reference to the mille crepe cake.

We then landed with Jmerc and Sloxxor, Allegorical, and Oceanu. Funny thing was those four packed together last round and somehow ended up in the same realm again. We're also joined by ineq/alison and Bazz, as well as a suspicious "newbie", dom name Luffy, who immediately unshared advisors the moment they joined, and never bothered with realm discord. There's more on him later.

Things were looking good at the start. I played a semi fast strategy and managed to hit five times straight after the initial first hit (delayed by 7-8 ticks), possibly could have hit for the 6th time as well if it wasn't for a bit of ops issue. Surprise, surprise, things started to go downhill from that point.

Realm 12 (Rush and co.) warred realm 6 as soon as war is enabled. It looked somewhat normal despite the fact that 6 was already lagging behind the top attackers (realm 13 at that point), but they did have a nasty combo of 2 lycanthropes and 2 goblins that could be potential threats later on. To everyone's surprise, the pack in realm 6 (turned out to be Rio, Gothia, Wurst, Dan) abandoned 24 hours later. If you thought it somehow sounded familiar, it because Wurst's pack also mass abandoned last round (the difference being Rio and Gothia being replaced by SwampFox and Crazy Elf before). There was some outcry in dom chat, and Wurst ended up writing a 15 pages proposal about fireball which he believed would solve the blop issue. Stay tuned to see how it'd affect blopping next round...

Meanwhile, MERF had been yoloing most of his hits, or going "vegas, baby" as he called it, while also encouraging me and Fett to do the same. It worked on some occasion, but I did ended up getting hit by Nate (SUM fuck #8) on one occasion despite there was a larger target with lesser dp than me. Collusion?!

On a side note we took the Ancient Library - which was brought in to replace Fountain of Youth which spawned for like the 10th time in a row. I also found out how annoying it was to play troll since I was almost perma swarmed and quaked for the first few weeks, most notably by Shaidar (Ambrose Dickwad #1).

Luffy, the suspicious dom mentioned earlier, was attacking at first, but he began to explore after taking a couple of hits. However, after about a month of silence, the suddenly made a bottomfeed and got instantly farmed by some of the slow attackers. He was later on locked, and apparently was a platinum farm for a certain player. Who would have guessed that an exploring halfling was running few Master Thieves, eh? Talk about hiding a tree in the forest.

My strat began to backfire as I lagged behind the other slow attackers and trolls, partly because I was too large to hit the doms who farmed out to the slow attackers. In the end I managed to reach 5k, partly due to hitting on mris (Index #8) when he suicided Neophyte (Ploptypus #5). I wanted to get another hit, but disable happened very early and that's that with that. Another disappointing round for sure.

I'd like to thank my realmies who were helpful with advices and ops, and thank you for reading as always. Perhaps one of these rounds, I'd be able to write something more exciting...
