Caramelldwarven R27

Writing this out of boredom while waiting for the next round to start.

This was my first full round on OpenDominion after finding out that the game was remade just recently.

I was initially thinking of soloing, but decided to try my luck in getting a pack in the end and got into one with Zedijar, Slicer, and Sommarhydda. I wanted to play dwarf, but Slicer already picked it. Since I was going to try this atteching thing as well, I took Zedijar's suggestion and went with merfolk. The pack went with a theme of popular songs + a race you're not playing. I'm not particularly familiar with western songs, and eventually decided on a meme song from mid 2000s, Caramelldansen, and thus my dom name was Caramelldwarven. At least I can pretend to be dwarf!

We landed with Jeff's pack, which consisted of Allegorical, Warpig, and AresTitan, and three other people, Silverfern, Empoy, and Luigi.

I'm a noob when it comes to making a sim, as I've never done it when I was playing classic (cause looking at the excel sheet back then already made me think wtf is this shit). I did mess around with the excel sim out of boredom, and Zedijar improved it for me before I made a few more adjustments.

OOP time, I was kinda overwhelmed with how fast people are getting their hits, and mostly just getting some scraps. I did get a hit on a player after 12 hours, a troll, Homer Simpson (#2), which proved to be my only non bot hit for the rest of the round lol. The rest of the round unfortunately was kinda uneventful, with me just hitting the bots while trying to keep up with the guys in my top range (most annoying at the early stage was the firewalker, Jaguar (#4) who's ramping up his op without sending for days).

At some point, Silverfern who's been an exploring merfolk was getting fucked by realm 10 on the front, back, and sideways, which ultimately led to him abandoning his dom. If only he didn't love his masonries too much.

Towards the end of the round, it became increasingly harder to get a safe hit within the Elite Guard range, so I end up making a couple of bottomfeeds just to finish as large as possible. Then at the last day, Empoy (Breaking the Silence), who's been hitting only bots throughout the round, decided that he wanted to get a hit on a player no matter what and suicided Krampus (#8), which led him being gangbanged by realm 3 and some others. He pretty much handed the win to the wood elf with that. I kinda feel bad for the #10 lycanthrope, but I guess it's somewhat fair since they fed on Silverfern? xD

At the start of the round I was aiming for around 4k acres finish, and I ended up above 5k despite making some mistakes here and there, so I guess it's not that bad for my first full round.
