Round 51 Rusla the Red Maiden

No, it's not the time for a roundwin yet. One day and that day may never come, I guess.

Didn't find a pack again so it's another solo run for me. Surprising? Not really, I guess. Anyways, came placement day and I saw familiar names, like last round familiar. That's right, the BG/RO gang was here again. If you counted the tester round before round 50, then it's the 3rd time in a row I landed with them. On top of that, it turned out that Vovin randomed into our realm again as well. Was the algorithm broken or something?! As for other randoms, there's Zar, Cosula, Sloxxor, two fresh newbs (one never logged in again and got yeeted soon after oop), and Oment...who's going incognito (again) - although he did join derpcord before oop. Then we're also joined by Slater, Sommar, and Norfolk who signed up later. I guess on paper it's quite a decent realm.

Our theme was a mix of vikings and something silly, or so it's supposed to be. Everyone ended up just using actual viking names (except Norfolk who made up his own completely) so I had to follow suit. Kinda a shame since there's a bunch of fun ideas in there.

Initially I was considering mostly nomad and troll for this round. Nomad because this cycle had a good time for 9 houring, and troll since I've been wanting to try it again, but often got turned off by the possibility of being a blop magnet. Both races were nerfed this round, and I sorta considered going dark elf as well since we might have a lot of icekin this round due to the buff it received, and the existence of Gnomish Mining Machine. In the end I went with nomad since it looked like this realm would have good ops support.

Aimed for 85/85/80/75% for oop, rather than 5x 75% (thanks to Oment for doing the calc which decided which path was better). Unfortunately my first target got sniped before I hit it, which wasn't the first time it happened. Couldn't find another 500a bot that hadn't got hit before so I had to settle for smaller ones. Ended up making 4x 80% ish hits which wasn't bad, I guess. Had to flex a few bms for the last one since I was just slightly under. 194 acres and 173 prestige from the first wave.

I was aiming at #9 liz - Joe, but apparently the top explorers in #10 (all DEs) were also hittable and they were a lot bigger. It was a whooping 144% hit - the biggest 2nd wave hit I had in my dom career so far lol. Thanks to Sloxxor for the find and the ops!

Could only hit a bot for 3rd wave, but that's expected. Overall a pretty good haul for day 1. And then it's time to sit for days as usual with slow 9hr races...

Realm 10 was the top realm at this time and they warred us to sink Ken. Funny enough we were talking about warring them ourselves earlier for a possible snare on their lyc - Britney, but he amped his ares like a pussy before day change.

Day 4, Hour 14

So far we've been pwning #10 in the war. We burnt their lyc and liz - Ciara to 6k and 4k peasants respectively (Ciara did took a hit after an exchange with #7 lyc - Oklahoma). Then we snared the fw - Whitney to potentially prevent him from hitting Oklahoma as well. Dunno why they dared to war when their top attackers had literal 0 wiz 1 spy (Whitney did train 75 ams but didn't bother with spy as well). Would be hilarious if their FAs ended up crashing because of this.

Day 4, Hour 17

While doing maintenance snare on Whitney, Rompar got him mixed with his buddy Britney...

So... in a completely unexpected, unprecedented occasion, Ivetza got rekt by realm 10 as they snared him, allowing the fw to hit him. Ken did warn him to amp his ares but he thought he still had time. Then Ivetza doubled down by hitting a bot and razing his gts to farm out, resulting in his dom being locked.

Shocking. /s

Fett seemed pissed enough to actually ousted his name in the announcement lol, and apparently his account would be permanently locked too - the first to ever happened in OD, I think. Ripperoni, at least you're now free from dominion. However, his account then being unlocked temporarily and set to abandon so that #10 lyc could get a legit hit on him (as this was "what's supposed to happen") seemed... egh? But apparently there's a precedent on that.

We considered outpost as the best wonder out there so far and had been considering to get it. Slater took the initiative to organize a cyclone party and were able to get the wonder with Vovin, Zar, Norfolk, and Sloxxor. Nicely done guys! Hopefully this wouldn't make us a war magnet lol.

Yolo'd as well for 9 hr since I thought that if #9 gobo - Norm, wasn't going to hit a bot on his range when he wouldn't be in #10 fw's range, then maybe there's something else holding him. Maybe he's luring me out, or just sleeping and I'd get fucked later. We'll see lol.

Update: It was actually an oopsie from my part due to just waking up. When I was looking at the gob's bottom range, I typed 2358 instead 2538 and thought he had a lot of bots to hit on way lower dp than mine. He did have a few bots to hit, but their dp wasn't too much lower. Although if he hit me, he'd also open himself to #4 liz who could just skip land db to stay oor from #10 fw. Fingers crossed that I'd make it back!

Update 2: Got back safely. #4 dorf - Khrawn provided a nice meatshield in the last hour or so by sending with lower dp than me on higher acres.

Update:

The locking of Britney Baby (#10) & CHARLES BASSETT (#0) have been appealed. During extended investigation the committee found evidence that pointed to the original locking being done based on faulty assumptions. The dominion of Britney Baby (#10) will be unlocked, pending further investigation.

Disable happened early and for once I was fine with it. It's been a shitty round for many reasons and even the game knew it's better for the round to end sooner than later.

Anyways, glad that was over with. Between some prick semi loc posting me in dom chat and some retard sui'd me for the sake of being a cunt, I felt rather targeted/harassed. Maybe it's just the case of having bad luck after finishing decently last round. If it's intentional, though, you guys (and you know who you are) can go fuck yourself.

After round ended I've learned the identity and reasoning of that retarded sui. Some people think I'm making a big deal out of it even though I wasn't going to be relevant. Well guess what, If you think it's fine, I hope your round will be ruined by some random retard one day even if you're not going to be relevant. Kthxbai.
