Round 43 Hastatus Prior

Yes, of course it's another roundfail. What did you expect? Anyways, this round had been mostly chill through halfway, and then it got wild pretty fast. So without further delay, here we go.

Packed with Jota, Mithrandir, Shanulf and Zar this round. We landed with Paqz, OMGnoob, Uruk Hai, and Zooj, as well as last round's winner, Harm aka Mr. Gangbang. We also got a relatively new player, Alaron. Let's see how this turn out...

The initial plan was for me to go fast if we find another person who wants to do it, but it turned out we didn't get anyone who's fancy doing so. I've been considering orc, nomad, or undead, but the last two races were considered as bad by many so I went with orc in the end.

Jota suggested Roman Legion as our theme and I went with Hastatus Prior, as heavy infantry seems to fit orc (the prior part means leader and I decided to go with it as it sounded better then just hastati).

Day 1, Hour 1

The aim for OOP was 4 hits and I managed to get them. Credit to the ops support as I started with 0 wiz (but 25 spies).

A nice 95% hit on the 2nd wave. I broke him by like 20+ dp, close call!

Little did I know that there will be a continuation of this hit later on.

Had to delay my next hit by a bit due to kobolds (#1 and #6)' op rising, even though in hindsight I coulda just trained according to schedule since their dp aren't that good. Missed some easy hits, but in the end I got a bigger one, so it's all good, I guess, assuming I'm making it back lol.

It was rather annoying to find out that there were bigger targets (but explorer) with way less dp than me (about 2k ish), but this twat was too lazy to find them and hit me instead. Screw you too, gtc.

A bot got in range, but I had to wait 1 tick later because my op was like 100 short. Well the timing worked quite nicely as it meant I made a hit right at the start of my birthday (in my timezone) lol.

This was my last player hit for a while and from this point it's just bot bashing until halfway of the round. I'll skip the journal entries for those hits so I won't bore you.

I was waiting for all my threats to go first, the last being #3 dwarf who's initially held back by #1 halfling, but only 1 db away from being oor. Mith yolo'd earlier, only to get whacked by the dwarf as the halfling took his land db a few ticks after. Collusion!

Unfortunate for him, but at least I get to send...

Saw #12 nomad (Chunk) kept a lot of horse archers home, and Zar confirmed that the #4 sylvan had no ares. I was able to hit him before he recasted. Lucky!

Jota decided to sui #1 spirit (Rury) since nobody else did it. It's quite a decent result considering he didn't feed the likes of #12 nomad or #3 dwarf (Jboy).

We're hoping that #12 nomad and #8 merfolk (Lamb) can hit #1 spirit so Mith can pile on him after casualties. The nomad seemed to be sleeping, but the merfolk did hit, and that's enough for Mith to follow.

Poige, who was the top op for a while, hit Mith in retaliation for his spirit, even though he's open to #12 nomad and me. The nomad didn't do anything for a while so I decided to hit first since it'd be silly for him to hit on me when he can hit the halfer. Right...?

Chunk benefited massively as he hit both Poige and then Rury on the 9 hour. Easy 1k+ acres for him which put him in the driving seat. It wasn't the best result for us, but at least we pretty much ended realm 1's winning chance.

Note to self (which I probably will forget next round anyways): Hitting at early morning, like 4 am is bad. I didn't check the nomad properly, but he would have needed to flex, which he unfortunately could. I tried to make him bounce by releasing spies, but they went with a sui-raze first. I guess it's kind of well played, but still lame as fuck. I'd take a sui or a raze, not both combined.

This wasn't the end of my beef with #12. But in the meantime...

Mith took a risk trying to win it, but it didn't work for him. However, he lured Chunk who's then open to me, and I didn't need a second invitation to get my revenge on them. BOOM. Top 5 record hit baby.

I then got hit twice, which put me oor from the nomad, which is perfect. I don't think I've been happy about getting hit before lol.

Realm 12 was quick to call it as "salty kingmaking". As far as I'm concerned, it's still less lame than their sui-raze on me. Our initial plan was for Mith to raze Jboy so I could hit him. However, since Chunk decided to bend over, I'm quite happy to hit him instead, despite Mith trying to persuade me to hit Jboy, which was double the hassle. Even more hilarious was Chunk tried to bf on Rio on his return and he bounced.

Yolo'd for lulz on last day and disable timer wasn't on my side as usual. Expected 1 or maybe 2 hits, but not 4 lol. I coulda finish 7k, but ended up throwing my 6k finish and 1st spot for orc. Not like it really mattered lol.

Welp, that's it. With a bit of luck I guess things could have turned great for me or the realm, but such is life. I had a blast getting big hits, but unfortunately also took some whacking as well. Another round that didn't quite work out for me but at least it's fun. Better luck next round, as always.
