Aces Up My Sylv

Decided to solo this round to test my luck in realm placement. Somewhat surprisingly, I landed with Rio's pack (Oment, Gothia, BB, Allegorical), which made the prospect looked promising at first. However, it turned out that about half of the realmies weren't that active, some even falling into the silent feeders (read: fuck 'em) category. At least there were a couple of quite active randoms, like LraE and Ocenanu.

Rio's pack went with [building name not used by their races] is overpowered as a theme. I decided to go with my own name and made a pun on sylvan, the race I decided to go with as I expected little help with ops.

I made two hits in day 1 (oop and +9 hr) and had to sit for like three day afterwards because of the fast attackers. So the round was off to a rather depressing start already. LraE (schools op) got hit a few times early on because, in his own words, he went greedy. There's only a handful of people who shared their advisors with me as I joined after pack placement, so I don't really know what he meant by that. However, it turned out that a part of it involved having zero (yes, ZERO) wizards, which I found out after asking him a help on wiz ops (I think my mana was low at that time). I guess it's hard to know the safe dp when you only rely on spy ops to check your top threats, eh? (and let just put aside the fact that there's the dp guideline for the early days)

There's nothing really exciting about my round this time, unfortunately. I only hit bots for the first few weeks, and the last two weeks I had to sit for like a week or so between each hits because the assholes that were my top threats kept training huge op but not sending. Just my luck that the moment I picked a forest race, most of the top ops are fucking wood elves. We all know what this means, but just to be clear... it's clearly COLLUSION!

Somewhere in between, we had a few wars, but mostly uneventful for me as nobody really targeted a wiz race, apart from a few nutjobs. Our realm did get the Factory of Legends from realm 9, which they then took back, and later on the Astral Panopticon from realm 5. Yay for free Surreal Perception! (although fortunately, not many people opsing me, the perks of being irrelevant)

Last day went wild as expected, with suis, and people generally sending out on low dp left and right. I was able to pull two hits with 9 hour, fortunately, which allowed me to reach 5k finish. Had I noticed the dp of the suiciding undead in 5, I could have finished bigger than my nox in round 29, but it's not all that bad since I ended up with a nice land number (5555 - with the help of a few exploring).
