So it's draft round time, and due to recent development I didn't really feel like joining the draft. I did have a reservation of going solo since last time placement fucked me hard. In the end I thought the same shit couldn't happen to the same guy twice, right? So I went randoming, and lo and behold, placement fucked me hard. Again.

The moment I checked the realm page for the first time, I thought I was in the non discord realm (there's actually none this round). I saw the man and the legend, Elf Woods. Then there were three fresh accounts, and one account whose track records were just a few rounds in tester, ranging from 250-500+ acres. It's even questionable if the dude actually played the game instead of just being a spy. There were a couple of unshared names at the start and the ones I recognized fell into the category of casuals. Just like that, I think it's safe to say that my round was already over on fucking day 0.

It's fucking ridiculous.

For a nobody that never even got close to top 10, who only had activity as his redeeming quality, I kept getting shafted again and again by placement as if I'm a serial winner. Calling the system collusion felt more like a fact now rather than memeing. Last draft round felt like one of the worst placement I've ever had and this one might even top it. Old system, new system, same fucking difference. It's fine that the community got to have fun with the draft round, but those who opted out shouldn't get punished for it.

End of rant, for now. There might be more as the round progress...

I went with sylvan again, having already played it last round, since the realm didn't look reliable for support with only about half of them showing up in the realm chat. More did show up near oop but it didn't look like it's going to be an active realm regardless. We couldn't even decide on a theme so I went with a Japanese racehorse name.

OOP was a mess. I planned for 2 85% hits and 3 80%. My first 2 hits got sniped first as I was about to hit them, resulting in smaller gain. Then all the smaller bots were gone so fast I ended up not having enough op to make 5 hits, so I decided to just take a bigger one for the 4th. I was reminded why I dislike starting small. Give me the next round already.

So... realm 6 warred us to snare Oment for no clear reason apart from feeding it to #9 liz. Oment was prepared to abandon but the Rule Committee intervened and allowed him to cast his ares.

Naturally, this didn't go well with the dommunity. And here I thought live in a ghetto would be pretty boring for the whole round.

I was planning to hit #9 FW with ares drop, but I got sniped by #10 DE. Then I decided to wait for another tick for a bot since it got more land, but I got sniped by #10 Demon. Fortunately I found another ares drop target. Fuck you realm 10.

Anyways, finally a player hit after a while. Thanks Sommar for the ops!

So I did calculate the range of #9 liz (top op) before I hit, but I foolishly took a db without calculating further (I'd be oor without it). Thankfully, it was salvageable because of Sylvan's rezoning power. Thanks to Oment for doing the calc to save my ass!

Merfolk in #11 had been pumping sui op while not being in #9 liz's range. I decided to yolo because why not. The merf ended up hitting that #9 dorf as well.

Woke up just in time to yolo while #9 liz was out. Thought about delaying the hit by 1 tick since I just woke up but in the end I rushed everything within 5 mins and did it (while still on the bed, even). It turned out to be the right move since my troops would return just at the same time as the liz.

Missed a couple of hits due to collusion. First I missed on #10 gnome because my net shat on me just as I was about to hit. Then it looked like #11 merf was finally going to sui so I delayed my sleep for an hour (from 4 am to 5 am), but he ended up hitting at 5.30...

For the umpteenth time, fuck this round.

Found a sui on last day to get me to 6k, but Empoy sniped me first...

At least things were happening in last day for a change.

Soo... somehow I managed to reach 6k despite the odds, and without getting hit for a change (the other rounds where I reached 6k I got hit multiple times lol). Given how things were at the start, I felt like even finishing the round was already a feat on its own since I kinda considered abandoning on placement day and after oop.

Special thanks to Oment who's keeping watch on top op and such. Had you abandoned from the snaregate incident, I probably would have followed as well lol. Also thanks to the other realmies who helped with ops and raids.
