50th round of OD woohoo!

Tried to find a pack but didn't have any luck (cause who wants to pack a noob, eh). I landed with the BG/RO pack (Rompar, Ivetza, Kenshiro, Blafiora), and somehow Vovin was also with us even though he's going solo. I recently played with Rompar, Ivetza, and Kenshiro in the tester and had a good round with them, so this looked quite interesting. There's also the duo of Winterr and Full Garous, while other solo players included Cronel, Seth Harris and two fresh accounts. We're then joined by Merf and Blade who signed up later, which made this realm had quite the crazy lineup.

I suggested a few themes and people agreed on war planes so that's what we went with.

We had a lot of people playing attackers and not as much on ops side, so I wasn't too keen on playing fast. Plus this cycle's start time sucked. So I went with Orc again since the numbers looked better than most on the sim, at least if you're looking for good stats without going high alchemies and mods from the start. The main issue is making multiple hits right in the morning and hopefully bots won't get wiped fast this time.

Aimed 4x 85% hit, only got 2 85% and 2 81%. The bots around 500a which were my primary targets were on the higher side of dp chart this time around. Collusion, right...? I got 190 prestige and 206 acres in total. Could be worse, I guess.

Managed to find a cheap player target, although unfortunately he got hit once while I was still waiting for my op to arrive.

A few ticks before this hit, I narrowly avoided a hit from the liz Cake(#10) even though my dp was ~100 in the hole. Being home and not appearing in the town crier might have helped me staying under the radar.

One of the kobos in #5 sui'd one of the #10 lizzies. I was a bit short but thankfully #9 halfer softened him and I got a better bs as well to make the attack.

Reached 600+ prestige with this hit.

Did a semi yolo since Cake( #10) couldn't hit me without feeding #9 halfer. Let's see if I'd make it lol. It's quite the perfect hit since it landed me just outside the halfer's new range on top of good land types for me. Thanks to Rompar for ops, he somehow managed to get a cs on a sylvan.

I've been quite lucky with player targets in the early days, but it's finally bot bashing time again. Earlier in the day, we took the High Cleric's Tower to make ourselves as less preferable targets for the top FAs (halfer and fw). I was stuck in guard since I only joined a few days ago, so kudos to the guys who cycloned and hit it lol.

I've been stuck defending #9 halfer who either didn't have a target or didn't want to send to slow down #11 fw. After Kenshiro yolo'd with about 5k dp lower than me, I decided to follow suit on a juicy target. Coulda hit him for a bigger gain but decided to wait for Ivetza to get back and get his 9hr hit. Fortunately #9 dorf bounced on the kobo to soften him up, allowing both of us to have more turtle. I was also banking that hct would further discourage the halfer to hit me since he'd lose tons of op due to casualties.

Realm 11 warred us to take our wonder, presumable to help them fight #6 vamp who's looking real good. The guys wanted to take it back so we mutualed them.

With #6 vamp found an ares drop I needed to hit on the same tick. I found a target that had 1k dp over my op due to draftees, but he spent them on exploring when we checked him again. He invested in walls, but I broke his dp by about 40 points. Funny thing was I decided to randomly made a bit of spec op while training elite dp on the hour where I'd be asleep, and that's what gotten me this hit. All calculated amirite. The vamp in #6 which was my main threat sent early in the tick, and this nomad sent later on, presenting me with a war hit as I was about to take a swing vs the bigger #5 vamp - 67. The vamp was a 85% hit while nomad was 82% and had more dp, but war bonus gave me more acres. Since they took our wonder and it was on low hp, we needed to gather the realmies to take it first before hitting them. Kudos to everyone who contributed to take it down!

Kenshiro also got a war hit on their orc so it's a pretty good day for us. Not to mention that Ivetza scored a big war hit against their gobo yesterday, so I think we could say we "won" this war with 11.

As a side note I didn't have enough mana to cast both racial and ares, but given the situation being a little hectic, (I was outside for almost half day and just got back near 10 pm when the whole thing was happening, feeling a little sick too - reasons below) I decided to gamble and sent early before hour change, leaving me for about 5 minutes without ares. Fortunately I made it through the tick lol.

The round was over on this day lol. Fucking dumbass FW fed for no real good reason. As if that wasn't bad enough, he went scion and deconverted immediately. I later learned that the hit was an oopsie and he went on vacation right after. Still, fuck him.

I tried to ares drop him earlier in the day, but he recasted early despite his realm being notorious of feeding ares drop hits to #11 fw (5-6 hits in total, and some in a row too). Collusion amirite?!

Then I tried to ares drop #6 sylvan - Horus, but we were a little late. Around 42 mins in the tick we saw he had no spell, but there's a bit of gap between getting his full ops and waiting on the confirming rev, and in the end the sylvan got it up first. In the end I just went back to my original target and hit him with ares on since my op was enough by that time. Thanks to Cronel for the last minute ops on the kobo! I was glad that I didn't waste my spell in the end since I already casted it in my earlier attempt to hit him as I missed the mana drop in the clear sights.

Got revenge blopped again. Whatever.

Tried to hit yesterday, but had to pass on some juicy targets due to various circumstances. #4 human - Germany and #2 troll - Papa were open but hitting the former would take me into #6 vamp's range, and my dp was rather tight against #4 DE - Lampard if hitting the later. Plus I somehow felt that #4 dorf - Suarez would sui me if I took a swing at their human, and then their DE could double me. Was I being a little paranoid? As the guy in The Departed said, maybe, maybe not, maybe fuck yourself. Anyways, the DE kept pumping spec op like a dick for a while, which made me had to pass on some smaller hits too. So fuck him too.

After the day changed, I found two possible targets, #11 goblin - Turnip, and the kobo - Bubba in #9. Turnip looked like the better hit since he's bigger and his dp only slightly higher than Bubba. As I checked his realm page to confirm his networth, though, I saw a notification in town crier and checked it first. Turned out the vamp in #8 sent a few minutes from hour change and and he looked hittable. Had to rush a little due to the timing, but thankfully Cronel got the needed ops!

Ken was annoyed he couldn't follow on the #5 icer that I hit yesterday due to #4 DE being a dick again with his op pump, so he dropped spec op to hit the de when he finally sent. #4 realized it a bit late and warred us in what seemingly like a desperate attempt to prevent the hit. They tried snaring Ken, but he got his spells up. They also tried to lb him.

Realm 4 hit back and tripled Ken, but their merfolk got hit by #2 troll as a result. Was expecting #6 human - Isis to join the fireworks but it looked like he's sleeping at the time. Ken shoulda picked a Japanese plane as his dom name as he ended up doing a kamikaze attack - something that was talked about when picking dom names before the start of the round.

As for myself, I was stuck since hitting anyone will put me in #6 vamp's range. Would be nice if he'd move his fat ass soon.

Thought about doing an ares drop on #2 demon - Paedo, but I was debating about whether #4 dorf would sui me or not that he was able to cast his spell first. Decided to yolo on a slightly better target in the end and hoped that the dorf wouldn't be a dick. Thanks to Vovin for ops!

==Day 44, Hour 14==
Apparently people expecting me to grow into the #6 vamp's range and calling me a pansy for not doing it. Here's why:

There weren't many people I could hit since almost everyone had high dp. Then I also couldn't really hit safely due to #4 dorf's flex. I wasn't about to take chance of getting potentially doubled by the dorf and later on by the vamp when I entered his range (assuming I hit), given #4 had HCT, which meant I'd take full casualties on defense (and offense too if I hit their DE that was baiting me). Not to mention there were some bad blood between my realm and #4 because of what happened earlier so I couldn't be sure if this guy wouldn't hit me if he could do it safely (like, why wouldn't he?), or only took a hit from someone else (was briefly open to #9 human - Elvis if he flexed iirc). Especially if I hit his realmie, cause some people could be sensitive about that kind of stuffs apparently.

Sinking the dorf was an option and I was considering it with my realm, but we tried to plan it at some point and wasn't able to gather the people since some of the guys had gone less active towards the end of round. I was thinking to try planning another sink campaign, but after reading what was said on domchat, I decided to just sit and try to get the biggest hit possible at last day. Because fuck you, that's why.

I couldn't win anyways, so why should I bother helping another contender while potentially sacrificing my possible best finish so far, plus giving myself additional worries for being snared, etc. once I'm in vamp's range. You guys saw me passing hits. If you really wanted to enter vamp's range maybe you coulda just yolo'd all the way into his range yourselves while ignoring me lol.

So much for all the talk in the previous entry lol. #2 troll made a hit, which fast forwarded the sink dorf plan. We were able to get his boats low enough to prevent him from flexing on me, juustt barely. Thankfully everyone in his range showed up to get the job done. Big thanks to Vovin, Kenshiro, Cronel, Ivetza, Rompar, Blafiora, and Blade who showed up for the clutch sinking!

And guess what? Moar revenge blops.

Welp. I turned sp on released spy/wiz and some savages as well, invested into walls, but in the end it wasn't enough. I was so close to a clean sheet round and a 7k finish too lol. Such is life.

I guess me wanting to wait until last day to make a hit was somehow justified? We did consider this situation where I sent, then vamp bf'd and troll hit me. The outcome was just slightly different than what was imagined since troll made a hit that kept him in the range of vamp, so there's a good chance that the two of them would trade blows later.

Disable was going late and I was able to yolo one last hit to get me to 8k finish. I sent all my op units just to be sure since it's a troll and he coulda invest or release. I also had to wait until the last second to hit in case hit jackass troll buddy was aiming to hit me again. Thankfully my net didn't screw me. Thanks to Vovin for ops!

Whew! What a ride. It might still be a roundfail, but I guess it kinda felt like an "almost success" instead of just fail lol. I finished 8k, ranked 3rd overall, the highest ever achievement of my dom career so far. For me this had been the closest to ideal for an attacking run with non fast race; a healthy mixture of player hits and bots in the early days instead of mostly bot bashing. I got lucky with targets here and there, of course. I guess in the end joining the fray worked out better rather than going pansy mode. But I'm never the tactical type of person, so the best I could do with my situation was to play it conservatively. I was up against races with high casualties reduction while I had to deal with extra casualties when attacking instead.

A fun little fact: I hit almost every realm except #9. I almost hit someone there, but there was a better target in another realm popped out just before I pulled the trigger lol.

It might be a while until I could reach this height again, if ever, but who knows. Maybe one of these days I'll be writing a roundwin story instead roundfail lol. A man can dream!
